Renew car tax and PRB
PRB and annual car tax are always paired — you can't renew tax without a valid PRB. Renew both together with Gengmak and compare voluntary insurance in the same flow.
Annual car tax renewal requires a valid PRB as a supporting document. Most owners renew both together so their expiry dates stay aligned year after year. Doing it in one flow also makes it easier to review your voluntary insurance for the same period — fewer separate transactions, fewer reminders to track.
Check these before you start so the tax and PRB renewal goes smoothly.
If you renew PRB with Gengmak in the same flow, the system reuses your car details — no need to re-enter.
The Department of Land Transport requires certain vehicles to be inspected before tax renewal, based on age from first registration.
| Vehicle type | Age threshold for inspection |
|---|---|
| Private passenger car (up to 7 seats / sedan) | Older than 7 years |
| Private passenger vehicle (more than 7 seats / van) | Older than 7 years |
| Private pickup truck | Older than 7 years |
| Motorcycle | Older than 5 years |
Vehicle age is counted from first registration. Inspections are done at private inspection centres (Tor Ror Or) nationwide.
Many drivers choose to handle PRB, tax, and voluntary insurance in one round for these reasons:
Enter your plate number, make, model, and owner info. The system flags whether your car needs an inspection.
Pick PRB, tax, and a voluntary insurance comparison in the same flow. Adjust coverage as you go.
Pay by credit card or Omise Link Plus (installments up to 10 months). Documents are sent by email and post, and the tax sticker is delivered to your address.
